Burton Court Quilt Program

What a wonderful day!

We met in the dining room.  We set up our quilts across chairs at the front of the room.  If you look closely, you can see a dining table set up behind the quilts - look for the little green napkins peeking out!

Here we have all the quilts laid out and we are waiting for our audience.

Here's a view of some of the men and women who came for the program.  They liked talking about the quilts!

Here CJ is describing the story behind this quilt.

As the seniors left the room, we gave each of them a handmade pillowcase.  Thanks to Lynne for wrapping them all up and tying with bows!

We had so much fun, we are planning to take our new "quilt program" on the road to another assisted living center!  Stay tuned for more : )

Happy Quilting!

Chuck's block

This is my first try at paper piecing.  It's a block of Megan's boxer, Chuck.  It was fun to piece, but challenging.  I think I ripped out one seam for ever two that I sewed!

Using Up Every Scrap

I just couldn't let those lovely pieces of fabric that I cut off fall into the trash so I made another quilt.  This baby's momma loves it, so I do to.

LeAnn's Quilt

Saw this at quilt group last time - but it's been so long I can't remember any details!  Please comment and fill in the details on this!

Ben's Quilt of Valor

Finally!  It missed his birthday by 6 months but I finally finished the quilt for Andrea's boyfriend Ben, a Marine.  What better time to give someone a flannel quilt than during the hottest summer on record?

Here's a close-up of the Marine Corps fabric.  I didn't want to sub-cut it so I used it as a panel.  Then I just added inner borders and stars to fit. -- Carol B.

Happy 4th!

Sara sent this a while ago, but since I'd been so slow to post it, I thought it appropriate for the holiday!

Enjoy the 4th and stay cool!

Courage is a wonderful thing!

I finally put my big girl panties on and loaded the wedding quilt I made for Grace and Chachi. It was finished in November of 2010, even before he asked her....he had asked us, just not her. I debated and hemmed and fretted about how to quilt it. My skills are just not ready for a custom on this, although that was my desire. I wanted the quilt completely done by me for this special gift. After all the delay, purchase of stencils, practice and not liking what I did, my good friend advised me to buy a panto I loved and just DO IT! I had wanted to give it to them for their first anniversary June 17, but will be slightly late. Here it is on frame! Pssst! It's a surprise, so don't mention it in public yet! Will finish today!
